INTRO.
- Short brief over view of what our coursework is, MYA's music video.
- What genre is it? Maybe a couple of inspirations. Our 'Love Now' video is POP. Briefly mention how we looked at the VAMPS all night video, with the point of view concept.
- Explore the concept of genre: style of a piece, way of categorising and marketing a piece to an audience.
PARAGRAPHS.
- What makes it this genre? S|T|I|N|C|T. 3 ideas / examples. Show how they are 'of the genre'. Compare our video to real media products.
- Applying some theory. Discuss what theories does it conform to. Love Now: Goodwin and Vernallis. Mania: Steve Neale and Rick Attman.
- Apply theory and discuss where/ challenged voyerism. We didn't sexualise our characters in our video, we didn't conform to media derived stereotypes.
- Final paragraph. CONCLUDE. A reflection on genre and what you learned / how it influenced our your creativity. Did we feel restricted or did we make it our own? Creativity, we wanted to push the boundaries in terms of our locations. Although our music video was POP genre and we felt a bit restricted, as a lot of pop music videos are very mainstream and basic, but e found ways to differentiate our video in terms of the extravagent locations we used and the settings. For example, talk about how we went to gods own junkyard because of all the bright lights and how this reflected a positive, happy vibe which is suitable for a pop music video.
